A 56-year-old Port Chester woman collapsed at the doors to Village Court Friday morning just after she got the news that she would be evicted by her landlord, according to Port Chester police.
The woman was in court 10 a.m. Friday in hopes of staving off eviction. However, the court ruled in favor of her landlord and upheld her eviction.
As the woman left the packed court, she collapsed at the doors leading to the second-floor hall of the court building, adjacent to Port Chester police headquarters. Police and emergency medical personnel went to assist the woman and she was found to be uninjured.
Police said the woman did not need to be taken for hospital treatment. Court went back into session when the incident was over.
