I guess she is lucky this didn't happen in NYC, Mayor Bloomberg would probably try and send her away for life!

I wish I knew more of her circumstances. I wonder if there's a baby around who did need that formula. And this might be a desperate mother or grandmother. I remember buying Enfamil way back when I was barely able to keep my head above water. It killed me to fork out 90 cents ... right! 90 cents! ... for a can of the ready made. Seemed so, I dunno, damned expensive. I've not lost that memory at all. I'll reserve judgment until I know more. If there's a baby involved, well, I'm on the baby's side. Always.

Aidan, if even desperate, did she need $82 worth of formula ? It is still a crime. Why are people having kids they can't provide for? My sympathy is with the law abiding, overtaxed citizens of the village who have to deal with this lowlife.

I'm not at odds with you. Yes, $82 worth is over the top. BUT ... I still stand by my original thoughts. If there's a baby involved I'd wait for more info. I won't assume she's a "low life". I've not been in her shoes.
