Police: Port Chester Woman Arrested In Pipe Attack On Another Woman

Victim needed stitches, had a fractured bone in the neck.

A Port Chester woman has been ordered held in the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla on $20,000 bail in connection with a fight in which another woman was hit in the head with a piece of pipe, according to Port Chester police.

The victim, a 24-year-old Port Chester resident, required stitches and suffered a fractured bone in her neck after the May 28 incident which took place after she and Maya Epps, 19, of 20 Bush Ave., Port Chester, attended a barbecue in Port Chester.

Police said their investigation started when they were notified a patient at Greenwich (CT) Hospital had been involved with a fight. The investigaion led to a warrant being issued for Epps.

A Port Chester police officer spotted Epps on Willett Avenue near Mortimer Street in the village at noon on Sunday and arrested her. Epps is charged with second-degree assault and she was sent to the county jail after arraignment today in Port Chester Village Court.

She is scheduled back in court on June 25.
