Port Chester Teen Charged with Slashing Woman Holding Child

Police: Pair had argued earlier in the day, leading up to violent clash.

A Port Chester teenager has been charged with slashing a 45-year-old woman who was holding a child after a dispute on Traverse Avenue, according to Port Chester police.

Guyneisha McGhee, 17, of 9 Weber Drive, Port Chester, is charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child after the 12:15 a.m. incident Saturday on the sixth floor of 45 Traverse Ave.

McGhee and the victim, police said, are known to each other and had a verbal dispute prior to the confrontation. Police said the victim, a resident of 45 Traverse Ave., was slahed twice by a knife. She was taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment of her injuries, which were not life-threatening.
