A 47-year-old Port Chester man who works at a Port Chester store is accused of petty larceny in connection with the theft of $407 worth of lobster meat, according to Port Chester Police.
Police said staff of the Restuarant Depot, 305 S. Regent St., reported to police at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday that an employee was spotted taking 12 bags of seafood to a car without paying for the items. Police said Robert Monti, 47, of 22 Marathon Place, Port Chester, is accused of putting the lobster meat in a car that he frequently borrows from another man.
The owner of the car, police said, was not involved in the incident.
Monti was cited for petty larceny and later released on $500 bail pending a March 11 hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
