Port Chester Restaurant Patron Accused Of Smashing Glass Door

Police: Port Chester man didn't want to leave at closing time.

A Port Chester man who was upset he was asked to leave a restaurant at closing time is charged with smashing the glass front door of the bar with a rock, according to Port Chester police.

Roberto Chavez, 24, of 26 Soundview St., is charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, in connection with the 4:01 a.m. incident Sunday at Tres Amigos, 30 Grace Church St., Port Chester.

Police said an employee told patrons at about 3:45 a.m. that the establishment was closing and they'd had to leave. However, police said Chavez became upset and refused to leave - picking up a chair and attempting to hit the employee.

Chavez left the bar and once outside, police said, he picked up a rock and threw it at the bar's front door, shattering the glass. No one was injured in the incident.
