Port Chester police are seeking information on two men believed to be stealing license plates off vehicles around town, Police Lt. James Ladeairous said.
Nine people have reported that one license plate had been stolen off their cars in recent weeks, Ladeairous said.
On Oct. 13, a homeowner said his dog started barking when two men in a gray, four-door Acura pulled up on his street.
He then watched passenger get out and squat down in front of a parked Cadillac. The man is described as a white, Hispanic male, clean shaven, about 40 to 55 years old, wearing a grey tee shirt and blue jeans, Ladeairous said.
When the dog barked again, the man got back into the car and the two drove away.
The homeowner went to see what he had done and noticed a screw was taken from the front license plate. The driver was described as a white male.
