Port Chester Police: Man Hid Stolen Steak Knives in His Pants

He couldn't fit frying pan in trousers.

A White Plains man is charged with petty larceny in connection with the theft of $105 worth of steak knives that he put in his pants at a Port Chester supermarket, according to Port Chester Police.

Demetrious Williams, 52, of 25 Cleveland St., White Plains, was arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday after workers at the Port Chester Stop and Shop supermarket filed a shoplifting complaint. Police said the store's staff saw Williams attempt to put a frying pan in his pants, but put it back when it did not fit.

However, police said store staff saw Williams put 15 steak knives in his pants and then go to leave the store without paying for the items.
