A group of men were so anxious to fight each other in Port Chester early Saturday that it took two separate tries by police to break them up.
The incident led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Port Chester man who is accused of trying to fight with police.
Port Chester village officers found a large group of men fighting on Smith Street at about 2:41 a.m. Saturday. Police were able to break up the fight and no one was reported injured or arrested.
However, police said the fight moved on to Grove Street, where village officers again went to break up the disturbance. But this time, police said Edwin Rodriguez, 19, of 29 Clark Place, verbally abused police officers and then tried to punch them.
Rodriguez was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
Start enforcing the Housing Codes and these creatures will be forced to move on...

"Ladeairous said that as Rodriguez was entering his home, his mother, Sylvia Rodriguez, 44, began to repeatedly beat him and pushed him from the home. Ladeairous said police officers stepped in to stop the mother from beating her son, which led to the mother attacking police officers. Ladeairous said that the son then started attacking the police officers as they were trying to arrest his mother." No dysfunction there! Nope!
