Police ask that anyone who might have seen anything suspicious and can help solve this crime against a small, local business call them at (914) 939-1000.

Midland Avenue is becoming a HIGH CRIME area like the 1960's. It's one of the 2 Gateways into Port Chester too. The projects on Weber Drive and the crowded houses that are on Leonard Street, Fawcett Street, Sands Street & Grace Church Street etc. have a lot to do with these issues. BTW, WHO OWNS THEM AND WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THAT THEY WERE INSPECTED BY THE VILLAGE OF PORT CHESTER???

JJ's right on it. I pass that way lots of times and I'm struck by the disturbing landscape as you go down Midland. It's got Third World feel at times. The buildings look as though they're made of cardboard ... and most haven't been update since the Mets earned a clap. And folks pushing and tugging shopping carts pile with wash or bottles or both. With maybe a kid plopped in for the ride. And this same scene invades the village for each recycling pick-up. A caravan of shopping carts all over residential areas as well.. How lovely. North Main is on it's way. But Midland Avenue is just the most unappealing welcome one could imagine. Remember: that "first impression" stuff matters.

The BOT doesn't care about anything south of where Purdy Ave. and S. Main St meet.

As far as village eyesores, how about the building of So. Main and Westchester Ave? A majority of the 2nd floor windows on the So. Main street side are missing. Even the plastic that has been covering the windows for years is dilapidated and torn up. One could argue that this intersection is the "heart" of PC and should be a main focal point but instead requires quadruple bypass surgery!

Gp, I live on leonard and i can tell it's got worse in the last 4yrs seems like the police are there if you need them because there always on weber drive anway but when they do lock someone up you always see them the next day.

I agree with all of u guys LET'S clean this village up

Clean it up? Andrea, do you have any idea how long the cancer has been eating away at PC without anyone doing anything? Voters keep electing the same corrupt dead wood. The federal government refuses to close our borders and PC has become a sanctuary city that resembles a third world country. This isn't new and no one should be surprised at what they see going on.

It should be a joint effort between Rye Brook Police and Greenwich Police Departments because why go to the Bronx for drugs when they have Port Chester to get there drugs while driving the Bmw's and ect.So many spoiled rich kids come here for easy access to highways and Route 1 right underneath the radar.

I feel that the police should be stationed mostly where the crimes tend to happen. May or may not help. Who knows, but it's worth a try.
