A Port Chester man who tried to break up an early-morning fight in downtown Port Chester was stabbed by one of the men involved with the fight, according to Port Chester Police.
The victim, a 27-year-old Port Chester resident, called a cab and went for emergency treatment at Greenwich (CT) Hospital, where police said he received multiple stitches to close a wound that was about 3-inches long.
Lt. James Ladeairous said the victim, who was intoxicated at the time of the incident, was walking on King Street at Adee Street at about 4:40 a.m. Saturday when the man came upon a large group of men fighting in a parking lot. Ladeairous said the victim tried to stop the fight, but about five of the men involved turned on the victim.
Ladeairous said the victim was attacked by one man with a knife. A doctor at Greenwich Hospital notified police that a stabbing victim from Port Chester was being treated.
