Port Chester Man Shot In Leg On Weber Drive

Detectives investigating conflicting stories about incident.

A Port Chester man was shot in the leg on Weber Drive in Port Chester Thursday night, but village police say the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear.

The 30-year-old man, who is not a resident of Weber Drive, originally told police that he was shot by a man who got out of a passing car and opened fire. However, police said the victim's story changed several times.

Police said they are also investigating whether the injury was self-inflicted.

The investigation began when police received a call reporting a stabbing on Weber Drive. When police arrived they found the shooting victim, who had a would in the right leg, between the knee and the ankle.

Police said the victim originally said he was sitting on a bench when a car came down the street, stopped and a passenger armed with a gun got out and opened fire. No one else was reported injured.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
