Port Chester Man Sentenced for Assaulting 5-year-old Relative

Esteban Fajardo-Pulgarin was sentenced Tuesday for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old female relative in 2004, according to an article published by the Stamford Advocate.

Stamford Judge Bruce Hudock sentenced the Ecuadorian national and Port Chester resident Fajardo, 51, to eight years in prison at the Superior Court in Stamford, according to the report.

Fajardo’s victim and her father came forward with the allegation that Fajardo, a relative of the father, had assaulted the girl at their Stamford home when she was five, which was eight years ago. Fajardo was arrested in Feb. 2012 after the family told police what happened and he pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault this May, The SA reports.

The article states:

“The girl told Stamford investigators that the incident has haunted her for years. At times she would try to hurt herself by pulling her hair or pinching herself when she thought about what Fajardo did to her, the affidavit said. The girl said she has even considered killing herself, but never did it because she was worried about what it would do to her family.”
