A Port Chester man heading home from a local bar early Saturday morning was beaten and robbed on Fox Island Road, according to
The victim, 34, was attacked at about 3 a.m. but did not report it until about 8 a.m. Police said the victim told police that since his cell phone was taken in the robbery, there was a delay because he did not want to get blood on his home phone — shared by several roommates.
Police said the victim was jumped by two men in a group of five men as he walked from Grace Church Street onto Fox Island Road. The victim was punched in the head and neck and was bleeding extensively after the attack. However, police said when village officers questioned the victim he did not seek medical attention.
The victim reported that his wallet, $200, his phone and identification were stolen in the attack. A village resident spotted the wallet on the ground nearby and alerted police, who recovered the wallet as evidence.
No arrests have been made yet in the attack.
