Port Chester Man Gets 1 ½ To 3 Years In Prison For Theft

Generator stolen from Home Depot store.

A 39-year-old Port Chester man has been sentenced to 1 ½ to 3 years state prison for stealing a generator from a Home Depot store.

Ricardo Rodrigues of 45 Traverse Ave. was sentenced state Supreme Court Judge William A. Kelly in Rockland County Court in New City after pleading guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said that on Oct. 14, 2009, Rodrigues stole a generator valued at $1,299 from the Home Depot located in Nanuet. Rodrigues entered the store with an empty cart, loaded a Rigid generator on to the cart and exited the store without paying for the item, Zugibe said.
