A 29-year-old Port Chester man faces a felony assault charge following accusations that he hit a taxi cab driver in the face with a Coors Light bottle after refusing to pay his fare.

Blas Carcamo, of 313 Westchester Ave., was charged with second-degree assault.

At about 2:44 a.m. on Nov. 29, police received a call from a cab driver, a 32-year-old Port Chester man, about what had happened, according to Lt. James Ladeairous.

Police went into the apartment building where Carcamo had gone after assaulting the cabbie, and together with the driver himself, knocked on the door, police said. A woman opened the door and when police asked whether anyone else was at home, Carcamo appeared within the apartment and was positively identifed by the cabbie, Ladeairous said.

The cab driver was transported to Greenwich Hospital for treatment, police said.
