Port Chester Man Earns Felony for Smashing Neon Sign at Restaurant

Police say the many was drunk and denied smashing the sign.

A local man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he put an exclamation point on his meal by smashing a $300 sign at Brisa Marina Restaurant.

A waitress watched as 46-year-old Francisco Villatoro, who was sitting near the window in the Grace Church Street restaurant, brought his hand down on a neon sign that was hanging near his table.

When a manager confronted Villatoro, the Port Chester man flatly denied he'd done any damage.

Villatoro, who was intoxicated according to police, was charged with felony third-degree criminal mischief.
