A Port Chester man is charged with drunken driving in a July 4th incident on Poningo Street, where Port Chester police he slammed into a parked car hard enough to push it onto the sidewalk.
Village police were alerted to an accident about 9:43 p.m. in front of 53 Poningo St., where they found a car with front- and rear-end damaged that had been pushed onto the sidewalk and up against a utility pole. A short distance away, police found a second car on Poningo Street that also had significant front-end damage.
Police said they found Frank Peterson, 60, of 10 Parker St., Port Chester, behind the wheel of the second car. Police said Peterson was intoxicated and he was charged with driving while intoxicated.
