Port Chester Man Charged with DWI after Hit-And-Run Accident

Driver found, identified at his home after King Street incident.

A 37-year-old Port Chester man is charged with drunken driving after he was involved in a hit-and-run accident on King Street, according to Port Chester Police.

A 31-year-old Port Chester woman who stopped her Volkswagen Jetta at a traffic sign at King Street and Adee Street at 6 p.m. Sunday was rear-ended by another car, a silver SUV. The woman told police that the SUV had been tailgating her on King Street and after the accident, the driver of the SUV ran to her car and started banging on her driver's window.

The woman told police she did not open her window and the other driver went back to his car and then drove off. However, the woman was able to note the license plate number of the SUV, police said.

An investigation led police to Otilio Rivera-Ramirez, 37, of 571 Locust Ave., Port Chester. Police said Rivera-Ramirez was located at his home and the victim of the car accident was able to identify him as the other driver.

Rivera-Ramirez was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of an accident. He faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.

Linda T., I would guess Mrs. Brakewood lives in Port Chester if she is running for the Port ChesterRead More Board of Ed. Even if the schools had to impose an austerity budget, your taxes would still go up. The state has more control in these matters than you think.

Linda, the per pupil expenditure in PC schools is the lowest in Westchester and Rockland countiesRead More ... by about $2,000 per student. The issue is two fold. First, our property values are not as strong as our neighbors, so our homes have a higher levy in order to fund the schools. Second, and more important, is that the reliance on property taxes slams moderate income communities like PC. We need for the state to move to an income tax to fund schools. Scream at your legislators ... not the BoE.

I am concerned there is not enough attention to detail in the BOE budget overall and Mrs. BrakewoodRead More comment about keeping taxes affordable ... where does she live ? they are out of control and in my opinion the money we pay for taxes we should have the best looking schools anywhere ... just my opinion
