A Port Chester man was hit with drunken driving charges after the Lincoln Navigator he was driving slammed into a utility pole on Putnam Avenue, according to Port Chester Police.
Four people were in the 1999 SUV at the time of the 8:25 p.m. incident in Friday, but police said no one required medical treatment.
Police said a village officer found two men and a woman sitting near the wrecked Navigator and then found the driver, Marco Guamarriga, 24, of 80 Elmont Ave., Port Chester, nearby. Guamarriga appeared intoxicated and was arrested, police said.
Police said they discovered that Guamarriga's driver's license was revoked in 2012 because of a DWI-related incident. As a result, Guamarriga was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, police said, because Guamarriga had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Guamarriga faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
