Port Chester Man Charged with Assault in Domestic Dispute
Police: Woman knocked to floor, stuck by belt.
A 61-year-old Port Chester man was charged with assault after domestic dispute involving a 6-year-old child and a 48-year-old woman, according to Port Chester Police.
Police said Nelson Bustos of 20 Sand St. was arrested after an investigation of a 3 p.m. incident at his home on Monday. Police said village officers found a woman at the home had been knocked to the floor and struck by a belt, leaving her with visible welts.
The woman, however, did not require medical attention, police said.

The woman told police that Bustos came home with her son and Bustos was upset over a matter that took place at the child's school. The woman told police Bustos struck the child and was about to hit the child with a belt when she stopped him, and was then knocked to the ground.
The child was not injured.

Busto was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
