Port Chester Man Arrested for DWI

Local man gets DWI after striking a utility pole.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, Julio Saquipay, 34 of 138 N. Regent St., Port Chester, NY was charged with a DWI, a misdemeanor.

   Port Chester police responded to a call on Glen Avenue that a blue van struck a telephone pole and attempted to flea the scene, said Lt Ladeairous.

The van was stopped in traffic on Clark Place, when police pulled up behind the vehicle and observed that the utility pole was struck and the van had heavy front-end damage.

When the police approached the driver and asked what had happened, the driver stated that he was reaching down to pick something up and lost control of the car. While police were talking to the driver, they smelled alcohol on him and he said that he had a few drinks at a friend’s house.
