Port Chester Man Arrested After Woman Stabs Him in Self-Defense
Police arrested a 36-year-old Port Chester man after a woman acting in self-defense stabbed him in the neck at 4:41 a.m. on Sept. 27, Police LT. James Ladeairous said. Police first learned of the injury when a cab driver reported that he was driving a man to Greenwich Hospital because he was bleeding heavily from a cut to his neck.
The man, a 40 Broad Street resident, told police that he fell and cut himself. Officers continued their investigation and discovered blood at 40 Broad Street, where they found a woman who lived nearby who admitted to stabbing the man in self-defense, Ladeairous said.
The woman said she was waiting for her girlfriend to arrive by cab when the man, a neighbor, pulled up in a cab. He took out a pair of scissors after she told him to leave her alone and stop coming close to her, she told police. As he moved in closer, she took out a pocketknife that she carries for protection and swung at him, causing the wound.
