Port Chester Man Arrested After Clash with Woman, Letting her Dog Loose

He's charged with attempted assault on Leicester Street.

A Port Chester man was charged with attempted assault after a clash with a woman on Leicester Street, according to Port Chester Police.

After arguing with the woman in a car, Rashamel Jones, 37, of Leicester Street, is accused of knocking the woman to the ground as he pulled a bag away from her, chasing her, throwing a stick in her face and letting the woman's dog loose. The incident took place about 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said a village police officer later arrested Jones on King Street.

The woman did not need medical attention after the incident and was able to get her dog.

Jones was being held Tuesday at Port Chester Police Headquarters pending a Village Court hearing.
