Port Chester Man Accused Of DWI After Police Chase, Crash

He was also wanted for probation violation; he's being held in upstate jail.

A Port Chester man faces drunken driving and numerous other charges after he led police on a chase in upstate New York and crashed into a utility police, according to State Police.

Police said troopers tried to stop Joseph Boraski, 34, on Friday in the Village of Wurtsboro in Sullivan County for a vehicle and traffic law violation. However, Boraski refused to pull over and led troopers in a pursuit that ended in Ellenville when he struck a utility pole, police said.

State Police were assisted by Ellenville police and Boraski was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Boraski was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration.

Boraski was also wanted by the Orange County Sheriff's Department for felony probation violation and felony DWI by the State Police in Middletown. He was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating and ordered held in the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending a hearing.
