Port Chester Man, 29, Accused of Raping Child

Police: Investigation looks at abuse over a five-year period.

A 29-year-old Port Chester man was charged with first-degree rape after an investigation of sexual abuse of a child that is believed to have taken place over a five-year period in Port Chester, according to Port Chester Police.

Lt. James Ladeairous said Ever Maldonado, 29, of 33 Oak St., Port Chester, was arrested after an investigation by Det. James Kumano of sexual abuse allegations made by a girl, now 13, living in Connecticut. Police said that girl and her mother lived with Maldonado until two years ago.

Ladeairous said the investigation in Port Chester began with information from police in Bridgeport, CT. The victim, Ladeairous said, revealed the abuse allegations to a clergyman and as a result the matter was then brought to local police.
