A Port Chester man was charged with drug possession, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after a confrontation with Port Chester police officers, according to Port Chester Police.
Kevin Rengifo, 26, of 262 Madison Ave., was among a group of men congregating on a sidewalk on Haseco Avenue at about 8:47 p.m. Thursday. Police said village officers approached the men to question them and the men started to walk away.
Police said village officers saw Rengifo put something in his pocket and stopped him. At the time, police said, Rengifo appeared intoxicated and he then pushed a village officer.
Rengifo was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Police said officers then found that Rengifo had a bag that contained drugs, leading to the charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Rengifo faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
