Port Chester Gas Station Operator Threatened During Theft

More than $100 in gas, merchandise stolen at Boston Post Road gas station.

A man stole more than $100 worth of gas and merchandise from a Port Chester gas station in an incident in which the station operator was also threatened, according to Port Chester Police.
The theft took place about 6:36 a.m. Friday at the Mobile station at 425 Boston Post Road. Police said a man who pulled a car up to a gas pump filled  his car with $36 worth of fuel and then went into the station's store, where he then picked up $25 worth of merchandise.
However, instead of paying for the gas and good, the man ran from the store. The thief went back to his car, but had locked the doors and was delayed getting into the car.Police said the station operator went to the car to confront the thief, but the station operated backed off when the thief attempted to punch him.
The station operator was not injured.
No arrest has been made in connection with the theft.
