Port Chester Driver Cited for Leaving Scene of Accident

Police: Car seen speeding, witness alerts patrolman to accident.

A Port Chester driver has been cited for leaving the scene of an accident in the village, according to Port Chester Police.

Police said the 31-year-old man was seen speeding by village Police Officer Christopher Bivona on Grove Street at about 6:52 p.m. Tuesday. A member of the public then alerted Bivona that he has seen the speeding car, a white Acura, hit a parked car and drive off.

Bivona stopped the Acura on Westchester Avenue in the area of the Port Chester Post Office. Police said the Acura had fresh damage and the driving admitted being involved in an accident.

The driver was cited for speeding, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to use a seatbelt, all violations.
