Port Chester Man Surrenders to Face Robbery Charge

$900 gold chain stolen in 2012 incident on Westchester Avenue.

A Port Chester man wanted in connection with a 2012 robbery on Westchester Avenue has turned himself in, according to Port Chester Police.

Morel Morgan, 28, of 200 Irving Ave., surrendered at Police Chester Police Headquarters about 9:30 a.m. Friday after he received word police had identified him as the person who stole a $900 necklace from a 33-year-old man in the early-morning hours of Oct. 24, 2012.

Lt. James Ladeairous said police had put word out in the community that Morgan was wanted in connection with the incident and a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Morgan was charged with third-degree robbery and ordered held in the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla pending a Port Chester Village Court hearing.
