Police: Woman Stabs Boyfriend After He Threatened to Kill Her and Infant

William Joseph Price is accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend and their baby with bleach, and faces charges from an earlier incident in which he threatened to "cut the child out of" Gordon while she was pregnant in March of this year.

A Port Chester woman is in jail on a felony charge and her boyfriend is hospitalized under guard by correction officers after a domestic argument led to death threats and a stabbing Monday afternoon, according to police.

Officers were called to 13 Weber Dr. at 4 p.m. Monday for a report of a man bleeding heavily. When they arrived, they found 24-year-old William Joseph Price bleeding from two cuts to his left arm and a wound to his rib cage.

Price claimed he fell while trying to remove an air conditioner from a window in the apartment, telling paramedics he cut himself several times on the edge of the window. The only problem? Blood trails from Price's wounds were found in other areas of the apartment, but not near the window where Price claimed he'd fell.

Authorities didn't buy the story, and when they questioned Price again, he told another version: He was stabbed by another man after a verbal argument turned physical.

Paramedics sent Price on his way to Westchester County Medical Center, then spoke with a woman inside who was more direct about what happened.

"She said, 'No, I stabbed him,'" Lt. James Ladeairous said, paraphrasing a statement given by 23-year-old Shirley Gordon, who lives in the apartment.

Gordon said she was home and holding the couple's 19-day-old infant when Price became enraged after an argument. The fight happened in Gordon's bedroom, and she warned Price to leave before she called police.

Price left briefly, then returned with bleach and told Gordon she could call police but "we'll all be dead by the time they get here," according to the police report.

Price moved toward Gordon, shoving her face into a bed while she was still holding the couple's infant, Ladeairous said. That's when Gordon broke away, grabbed a knife and stabbed her boyfriend.

Monday's incident was the second time Price has threatened Gordon. On March 9 of this year, in the same Weber Drive apartment, Gordon was pregnant with the same child when Price threatened "that he was going to cut the baby out of her," Ladeairous said.

Port Chester police had issued a warrant for Price after the March incident, but Price, of 1518 Lurting Ave. in the Bronx, managed to evade arrest until Monday's stabbing.

Gordon was chasrged with second-degree assault, a felony. She was held in lock-up pending a court appearance this morning. After the hearing, she was sent to Westchester County Jail on $5,000 bail.

Price was charged with second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. In addition, he was charged with second-degree menacing for the earlier incident in March.

Price remains hospitalized in Westchester Medical Center, where he's being watched by correction officers posted at his hospital room. He's scheduled for transfer to Westchester County Jail when he's discharged from the hospital. Bail for Price is set at $10,000.
Gordon and her child were uninjured in the attack, police said. An investigation is continuing.
