Police: Volleyball Player Charged with Assault at Port Chester Park

Port Chester man complained he was punched, kicked by fellow volleyball player at Columbus Park.

A White Plains man has been charged with assault after an incident at Columbus Park, where a volleyball player says he was punched and kicked by the fellow player, according to Port Chester Police.

Agustin Sucuzhagnay-Abad, 37, of 51 Rathbun Ave., White Plains, turned himself in at Port Chester Police Headquarters about two hours after a 12:15 p.m. incident on Sunday at Columbus Park. Police say they are uncertain what prompted the the clash between Sucuzhagnay-Abad and the victim, a 51-year-old Port Chester man.

Sucuzhagnay-Abad was charged with third-degree assault and he faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court. The victim refused medical attention, police said.
