Police: She Stabbed Him Over a Year-Old Incident

Still angry after all those months, a Port Chester woman yelled at her boyfriend about something that happened a year ago, then stabbed him in the palm of his hand, police said.

Police didn't say what the year-old matter was about.

Port Chester police gave this account of the incident (which is an accusation not proven in court):

Damaris Garcia-Gonzalez, 27, had returned to her Touraine Avenue home from work at about 5 a.m. and started drinking with her 34-year-old boyfriend. Eventually, the boyfriend told police, Garcia-Gonzalez began yelling at him about the year-old matter (police didn't say what it was), and she told him to leave.

Before he left, she came at him with a steak knife and stabbed the palm of his left hand. He also received defensive wounds to his left forearm.

The couple went to White Plains Hospital and police were called in. They arrested Garcia-Gonzalez there, charging her with second-degree assault, a felony.

She was held on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Aug. 12 in Port Chester Justice Court.
