Police: Port Chester Man Spied on Mom and Kids Through Window

Despite repeated warnings, the man kept returning to the victim's house until police caught him in the act and placed him under arrest.

An accused voyeur was arrested this weekend after police warned him twice to stay away from a Port Chester family's windows.

Francisco Lopez Oliveros, 42, received his first warning at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, when the victim caught him looking through a window into her first-floor bedroom. Port Chester police responded to the Grove Street home and spoke to the woman, who gave them a description of Oliveros. They searched the area and found him sitting on the steps of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, at the corner of Smith Street and Westchester Avenue.

The victim identified Oliveros, and police told the man to stay away from the home, Lt. James Ladeairous said.

Three hours later, the woman called police again, telling them Oliveros was looking into her bedroom and her children's bedroom. Oliveros protested, saying he was simply passing by and wasn't looking in the windows.

An officer decided to see for himself, setting up across the street with a view of the victim's Grove Street home. A few minutes later, at 6:30 p.m., the officer watched as Oliveros made his way back towards the house and the windows.

Oliveros put up a fight when police arrested him, yelling that he wasn't doing anything wrong, Ladeairous said. Oliveros, who lives at 17 Poningo St., was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.
