Police: Port Chester Man Shot in Armed Robbery

The victim was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg and has been released from the hospital, according to police.

A Port Chester man was shot in a robbery on Oak Street early Saturday morning, Port Chester police said.

Officers responded at 2:20 a.m. and found the two victims: a 22-year-old man who had been shot in his leg, and a 26-year-old Bronx man who was uninjured.

The Port Chester man was brought by ambulance to the Sound Shore Medical Center, where he was treated and listed in stable condition. He has since been released, police said Monday.

The victims told detectives they were approached by four suspects, including one who was "brandishing a handgun," according to police. The suspects relieved the victims of "all personal belongings" and fled.

Police said the gun-toting man fired on the victim after the robbery, "for no apparent reason, just as the suspects were fleeing the scene."

The robbers got away in a "tan or gold mid-size four-door" vehicle.

Detectives from the Port Chester Police Department are looking for clues and witnesses to the robbery. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the detective bureau at 914-939-8419. All tips will be kept confidential.
