Police: Port Chester Man Charged in Jewelry Theft

Shoplifting incident reported at Kohl's.

A Port Chester man is charged with petty larceny in connection with the theft of $90 worth of jewelry from the Port Chester Kohl's department store, according to Port Chester police.

David Nunez, 41, of 231 William St., was arrested after a 4 p.m. incident at the store on Thursday. Police said store security personnel reported they spotted Nunez on the store video security system as he took three pairs of earrings, removed them from their merchandise cards and put them in his pocket.

Police said at the time Nunez was shopping with three young children and bought and paid for toys at the store. The children were turned over to their mother, police said.

Nunez was taken to police headquarters and later released on $200 bail.
