Police: Port Chester Cabbie Could Have Stalker

Over the past three weeks, the cab driver has returned to his car to find it vandalized with bleach and spray paint.

Maybe it's an angry customer or a spurned ex-flame.

A Port Chester cabbie doesn't know who's responsible, but tells police his cab's been vandalized twice this month, and a person's been calling his dispatcher to ask when he's working, Lt. James Ladeairous said.

The cabbie, a 47-year-old Port Chester man, called police on Wednesday to report the most recent case of vandalism.

The man parked his cab, a 2004 Lincoln Town Car, on Parker Street at 10 p.m. When he returned two hours later, there was a spray paint line running along the entire right side of the car.

Two weeks prior, the cabbie found the paint peeling on his car's hood after someone tossed a bleach-like substance on it, Ladeairous said. And the victim reports "mysterious" calls to the cab company from someone who apparently
wants to know his whereabouts. He told police he doesn't know who could be angry with him.

Anyone with information on the vandalism can call the Port Chester Police Department at 914-939-1000. All calls will be kept confidential.
