Police: Port Chester Armed Robber Gets 12 Years

The Connecticut man arrested for a pair of armed robberies in Port Chester late last year has been sentenced to 12 years in prison, local police say.

John McFarlane, of Bridgeport, already was a convicted felon out on parole when he perpetrated the crimes at Subway in Port Chester on Dec. 26 and then at a Shell gas station on the Boston Post Road two days later, according to police.

In the Subway incident, masked, McFarlane forced a 22-year-old clerk to the floor with a gun before fleeing with cash, police have said. At the Shell station, McFarlane entered the store and waited until a customer left, then pulled out a gun and demanded money, according to Port Chester Police Lt. James Ladeairous.

Police concluded their investigation in July, and McFarlane was sentenced Monday after take a plea, Ladeairous said.
