Police: NYC Man Earns Felony After Getting Booted from Bar
David Gilbertson, 28, is accused of showing his displeasure over getting booted from a bar by destroying a $750 door frame on his way out.
A New York City man faces a felony charge after breaking a bar door when he was asked to leave a Mill Street drinking establishment, Port Chester police said.
Officers were called to Sam's Bar and Grill on Mill Street at 2:41 a.m. Saturday. Bartenders told officers 28-year-old David Gilbertson was drinking with a friend a few minutes earlier when he suddenly became enraged. Bar employees asked Gilbertson to leave, and on his way out the disgruntled customer destroyed a $750 doorframe by pulling it apart, Lt. James Ladeairous said.
Police found Gilbertson and his buddy, 26-year-old Timothy Wahba of Greenwich, in the parking lot outside. Both men were taken into custody and searched: police say Wahba was carrying a switch blade, which is illegal in New York.
