Police: Man Shoots Pepper Spray Into Crowd At Don Bosco Community Center

Four taken to hospital for treatment.

A deacon and several others at the in Port Chester on Saturday morning had to be taken to a hospital for treatment after a man involved in an argument doused them and others with pepper spray, according to Port Chester police.

A large group of people was affected by the spray, although many individuals were able to wash their eyes out in the kitchen of the center at 22 Don Bosco Place. Police said the man who used the pepper spray is believed to have fled the area on a motorcycle and has not yet been identified.

The incident began, police said, about 7:50 a.m. when the unidentified man became involved in an argument. Police said the man threw a cup of coffee on the deacon and as the man left the community center he took out pepper spray and shot it at the deacon on others at the center.

Ambulances took the deacon and three others to Greenwich Hospital for treatment.

Police said witnesses saw the man get on a motorcycle and drive off. The man, who was not known at the center, was described as about 50 years old, Hispanic, about 5-foot-9 wearing a green jacket and army-style pants.
