Police: Man Had Heroin While Trespassing at Purdy Ave Public Housing

Demetrius Williams, 50, was charged with drug possession and two others were charged with trespassing, despite being prohibited from grounds owned by the Port Chester Housing Authority.

A homeless man was charged with heroin possession and was among three accused of trespassing on public housing grounds Wednesday, Port Chester police said.

Officers patrolling near public housing at 70 Purdy Ave. spotted a man who was banned from the grounds, loitering outside a few minutes after 4 p.m.

Police officers parked their cars and entered the building from a rear entrance. When they walked into the building's lobby, they found the man they'd spotted earlier, along with two other men who were prohibited by the Port Chester Housing Authority, Lt. James Ladeairous said.
