Police: Laptop Stolen in Leonard St. Burglary

Police checked the victim's apartment, but there were no signs of forced entry, suggesting the thief may have had a key to the apartment.

More than $1,000 in items were stolen from a Leonard Street apartment during a burglary this weekend, Port Chester police said.

The victim, a 23-year-old Port Chester resident, told officers he left his home at 11:35 a.m. on May 6 and returned at 4 p.m. There was no damage to the front door of the basement apartment and no sign that anything had been disturbed, except for the bedroom – the victim told police a laptop and two bracelets were missing, Lt. James Ladeairous said.

The laptop is valued at $630 and the bracelets are worth a combined $550, the victim told officers. Police checked the apartment, but there were no signs of forced entry.

Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call the Port Chester Police Department at 914-939-1000. All calls will be kept confidential.
