Police: Drunk Driver Hits Wall, Keeps Driving with Sparking Vehicle

A Port Chester Fire Chief called police when he saw a vehicle coming from Greenwich, Ct. that had heavy front end damage, deployed air bags and wheels sparking on Oct. 20 at 8:30 p.m. Port Chetser police responded to the call and found a driver, a 60-year-old Port Chester resident, who said he swerved to hit another car that was coming into his lane and hit an overpass near Bimbo Bakery in Greenwich, Police Lt. James Ladeairous said. He also allegedly admitted to having drank alcohol but who said he did not drink “enough to be intoxicated due to my large size,” police Lt. James Ladeairous said.

Police arrested him for DWI, and issued him tickets for unsafe tires and an unsafe front bumper, violations.
