A Connecticut woman was ordered held in the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla on Thursday after she drove a Porsche onto a sidewalk in Port Chester and was hit with felony drunken driving charges, according to Port Chester police.
Ginger Powell, 33, of 61 Hope St., Bridgeport, CT, was found to have her driver's license revoked from a previous drunken driving incident, police said, after she was stopped by Port Chester police at 3 a.m. Thursday on Midland Avenue.
A village police officer first spotted the 2009 grey Porsche on the sidewalk, and as he approached the car it took off and then went through a red traffic signal at Grace Church Street. Police pulled the car over and found Powell to be intoxicated when they questioned her.
Police said Powell was uncooperative with village officers and refused to take chemical breath tests for alcohol. Police said Powell was also uncooperative as she was arraigned in Port Chester Village Court, where she was ordered held pending a hearing.
When she was stopped, Powell said she was on her way home, according to police.
