Update: Charges Dropped for CT Man Accused of Trying to Push Traveler Off Station Platform

No one injured in late-night incident.

A Connecticut man is accused of trying to push a New Rochelle man off a Metro North Commuter Railroad platform in Port Chester in an unprovoked incident, according to Port Chester Police.

After his arrest, the 35-year-old man from Norwalk, Ct. told them that he did not ever remember the incident. Police said the attack on the New York-bound platform at the Port Chester station ended without injury because a woman with Prater stopped him as he was attacking a 35-year-old New Rochelle man.

Police said the New Rochelle man was waiting for a train at about 11:10 p.m. on Friday when he was grabbed from behind and was being pushed toward the railroad tracks. Police said there was no apparent reason for the attack.

The man was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and he faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
