An 18-year-old Greenwich, CT, man is accused of petty larceny and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with a $455 shoplifting incident Wednesday at the Port Chester Kohl's store, according to Port Chester police.
Police said store personnel reported stopping Israel Zapata of 17 Grant St., Greenwich, and his 15-year-old sister at 7 p.m. for the theft of assorted merchandise from the store at 431 Boston Post Road. Police said Zapata is accused of directing his sister in taking items from the store.
After being processed at police headquarters, Zapata was released pending a Port Chester court hearing. Police said the 15-year-old girl was not charged, however, the matter was referred to the Port Chester Police Department's juvenile officer for further investigation.
