Police: Accident in Greenwich Leads to DWI Charge in Port Chester

Port Chester man accused of having more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

A two-car auto accident that took place in Greenwich ended in Port Chester, where Port Chester police say a village resident was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Police said their investigation began when they learned of a driver who said he was following a car that had struck his in Greenwich. The driver of a fleeing car, police said, was spotted on William Street in Port Chester and stopped.

The driver was identified as Ludin Wilfredo Garcia, 31, of 155 William St., Port Chester. Police said he appeared intoxicated and was arrested.

Garcia was later charged with driving while intoxicated. Police said that because Gardia had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system he was also charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

He was later released on $250 bail pending a hearing in Port Chester Village Court. Police said information regarding the accident in Greenwich was relayed to Greenwich Police.
