Police: $5k In Tools Stolen In Burglary

A burglar snipped a gate wire and pried open a warehouse door to get inside, according to police.

Several commercial-grade tools worth more than $5,300 were stolen from a Port Chester concrete company over the weekend, according to police.

The owner of Byram Concrete and Masonry called the Port Chester Police Department at 8:09 a.m. on Monday morning after discovering the break-in.

The burglar had broke through a front gate, cutting a wire link that keeps the gate shut, Lt. James Ladeairous said. The burglar gained entry to the warehouse at 31 Townsend St. by prying the door open.

Among the items taken were three saws, two grinders and a "brute hammer," the business owner told police.

An investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the burglary can call the Port Chester Police Department at 914-939-1000. All calls will be kept confidential.
