PCPD Out In Force After Stabbing Death, Investigation Continues

Detectives continue to follow leads in the death of 23-year-old Carlos Guiracocha.

Port Chester police have increased their presence after the stabbing death of a 23-year-old man earlier this week.

In addition to marked patrols, detectives are out in force and are following leads related to the on Tuesday, Lt. James Ladeairous said. No arrests have been made in the case.

The Port Chester man was found by police officers a few minutes before 4 a.m. When paramedics arrived at the scene in front of 131 Poningo St., they pronounced Guiracocha dead.

Police acknowledged that there are surveillance cameras in the area, including several with angles on the site of the murder. They also say they believe Guiracocha was killed by an acquaintance after a street-side argument, and that it , but haven't said much beyond those details.

Police recovered a knife nearby, and believe it was the weapon used by Guiracocha's killer.

The case has drawn the attention of media from Ecuador, Guiracocha's home country.
