PC Woman Rescues Cat Shot With Pellet Gun
A Port Chester woman noticed the stray cat had a neck wound and brought the animal to a veterinarian.
A Port Chester woman who lives on Madison Avenue noticed something strange Tuesday when she saw a familiar stray cat that hangs around the neighborhood.
The 34-year-old Port Chester woman is among several neighbors who feed the cat, and when she spotted the animal on Tuesday, she noticed the cat was injured and bleeding from a neck wound.
The woman took the cat to a veterinarian, and x-rays revealed the animal had been shot in the neck with a pellet gun, with the pellet still lodged inside, Lt. James Ladeairous said.

The woman reported the incident to police after returning from the vet, showing officers a copy of the x-ray. Police believe the animal was likely abused at the hands of local kids, and are asking neighbors to keep a look-out for anyone carrying pellet guns.
Anyone with information on the abuse can call the Port Chester Police Department at 914-939-1000. All calls will be kept confidential.
